Restoration – 3 Medieval Panels

15th - 16th Century Panels

RESTORATION PROJECT:
Renovation required cleaning and stabilizing. The three European Panels were covered in heavy debris, preventing a clear visual of panel design. Due to their age and value, cleaning was executed with the utmost care, no original leads or glass was removed. A previous renovation covered broken glass elements with lead overlays, these areas received epoxi and inpainting treatment where possible. Micro leads where applied to all lead inlays from the previous renovation efforts, in an effort to minimize obscuring the original artistic intent.
